Responsibilities
As a Welder/Fabricator, you will be responsible for fabrication and welding tasks across a range of engineering projects. Your duties will include:
- Performing fabrication and welding work for truck decks and structural components
- Determining specifications and welding requirements based on engineering designs
- Carrying out production engineering tasks, including mechanical servicing and breakdown welding repairs
- Preparing cranes for welding and removing cranes from trailers for repair work
- Completing COF welding repairs (LT400) and reconditioning tasks
- Cleaning and smoothing welds by filing, chiselling, and grinding
- Using hand tools, flame cutting torches, and metal cutting machines
- Welding metal sections using appropriate welding techniques, bolting, and riveting
- Following all workplace Health and Safety requirements at all times
Requirements
To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of fabrication and welding experience, OR
- A relevant welding and/or fabrication qualification equivalent to NZ Level 4 or higher
- Ability to comply with pre-employment checks, including drug testing
- Willingness to follow all Health and Safety policies and procedures
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends if required
- Eligibility to work in New Zealand as a resident or valid work visa holder

Pay and Benefits
- Job Type: Full-time, permanent
- Pay Rate: NZD $31.70 – $50.00 per hour
- Minimum Hours: 30 hours per week
- Maximum Hours: Up to 70 hours per week
- Working Days: Monday to Saturday
- Estimated Hours: Start between 7:30 am – 8:00 pm (subject to roster changes)
