Groundsperson Job in Australia

Ventia Australia Pty Ltd is seeking dedicated and motivated Groundsperson Job in Australia to join its Land Management team at RAAF Base Pearce, WA. This role forms part of Ventia’s newly awarded 6-year Defence Base Services contract, supporting the Australian Defence Force. Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out daily land and grounds maintenance activities as directed by the Grounds Supervisor
  • Propagate, plant, and undertake revegetation across varied landscapes
  • Perform general grounds duties including debris and rubbish removal
  • Clean outdoor features, hardstand areas, and assist with line marking
  • Manage injured or deceased wildlife in accordance with procedures
  • Conduct mulching, pruning, hedging, turf maintenance, and pest control
  • Apply chemicals and fertilisers in line with safety and environmental standards
  • Operate and maintain mowers, tractors, small plant, machinery, and hand tools
  • Maintain equipment according to operator manuals and scheduled maintenance
  • Work across multiple sites based on operational requirements

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year experience in a similar working environment
  • Experience operating and maintaining plant and grounds equipment
  • Experience with manual handling tasks
  • Experience working within an Environmental Management System
  • Certificate in Horticulture or equivalent (desirable but not essential)
  • Ability to work effectively within a team
  • Must be eligible to obtain a Defence Security Clearance
  • Australian Citizenship and willingness to undergo an Australian Federal Police Check
