Responsibilities
- Carry out welding and metal fabrication work to support roofing and structural installation projects
- Interpret engineering drawings, project plans, and measurements
- Determine welding requirements for roofing and structural components
- Select and operate appropriate welding techniques including MIG, TIG, and manual arc welding
- Cut, fabricate, shape, and assemble metal components such as frames, brackets, supports, and fittings
- Set up and position metal components to ensure correct alignment and fit
- Prepare metal surfaces using angle grinders and cutting tools prior to welding
- Perform welding in horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions
- Inspect welded joints and structures to ensure quality, strength, and durability
- Maintain welding tools and equipment and follow all health and safety procedures
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience, OR
- Relevant Level 4 or higher qualification, OR
- Bachelor’s qualification in any discipline
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
- Physically fit and capable of performing manual tasks
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
